Children/Youth/Men/Women

Most of the programs that Mill Woods are designed for all ages and groups. But we also have programs that are designed for particular sub-groups. And this is the page that describes many of them!

Children’s Church

We welcome all children between the ages of 4 and grade six to join us Sunday mornings for fun and learning. Activities based on a biblical story or topic that we concentrate on for a number of weeks, however, you can join us anytime. This special time gives kids more opportunity for interaction and learning in a context and manner that may be better suited to their age and learning styles. We use science, music, cooking, crafts, drama and more to teach.

Youth

We offer teens a safe place Sunday mornings. Our youth group, in made up of teens and young adults from grade 7 and up. Youth group is a place where current events, day-to-day struggles and life in general are used to guide our program. With the use of the Internet, DVD discussion series, and other current resources, our teens are given a safe place to hang out, be themselves, and learn how church, and God can help them day-to-day. This year we are looking at how we as a youth group can give back, by learning about and raising money for local charities and causes.

Men’s Breakfast

All Men are Welcome to this informal get together. Last Saturday of every  month we meet at  a local restaurant for breakfast (pay for what you order) and enjoy some fellowship. Information on specifics will be posted on the Upcoming Events page of this website 1 week prior to the breakfast.

Women

Heavenly Hospitality

This group originated when we moved into our church building in 1993. Shortly after settling in, the congregation was asked if we had a women’s group that could do some catering. We weren’t set up yet to take on any catering so this group of women decided to take it upon themselves to stock the kitchen with the equipment needed. Over twenty years later and some of the same women are still involved. They still add items to the kitchen as needed but also contribute significantly to the church’s fundraising efforts. These ladies will cater to  funeral and memorial services and to groups meeting in our facility. They also put on some special events throughout the year.

This is a lively group of women who are always ready to welcome new members who are looking to enjoy some great fellowship while preparing catered meals for church sponsored activities and outside groups.
