The Papaschase Community Garden was located on the front lawn of our church from 2008 until 2022, when it was dismantled. It had 27 raised-bed garden plots. In 2021, the plots were used by “Food, Not Bombs” to grow food for homeless people. This same group used the Garden for this purpose in 2020.
Started in 2008, individual plots were leased to individuals and families. This practice changed in 2018, when a group of church members grew food for our food security programs — The Bread Run and The Collective Kitchen.
In 2019, the men of our partner congregation, the Zimbabwean United Methodists, raised food for the community.
