Guest Speaker, June 26: Chief Calvin Bruneau

Chief Calvin Bruneau of the Papaschase First Nation will be our guest speaker during our Sunday morning service on June 26 at 10:30 a.m. All are welcome.

The service will focus on reconciliation between indigenous and non-indigenous people one year after the publication of the Calls to Action of the TRC and 30 years after the United Church of Canada offered an official apology to First Nations people.

We are looking forward to hearing Chief Bruneau’s perspective on the history of the Papaschase people and land and his reflections on what he has observed and been experiencing with respect to the TRC report and Calls to Action over the past year and to share his hopes for the coming years.

We will also be creating “reconciliation hearts” to plant in our community garden on the front lawns of the church.
