Christmas Craft Market
The Christmas Market has been happening for over two decades. We have a variety of vendors selling items from handmade products to commercial vendors such as Norwex and Epicure on both floors of our church. There is usually a hot lunch with soup put together by our Heavenly Hospitality group for purchase at the downstairs concession on the date of the sale. Entry to our sale is by donation. This fundraiser supports the life and work of our church in the community of Mill Woods.

Christmas Craft Market 2023
Saturday December 2, 2023 | 10am - 4pm
Please note we are no longer accepting vendor applications - thank you for all of those who submitted!
This year, there will be a few changes that you may notice, but many of the same comforts of past years will remain the same. First off, we will be hosting this event a week later than normal due to some scheduling conflicts. We would be happy to see you at the market on Saturday December 2, 2023.
Like past Christmas Craft Markets, we will be welcoming vendors and customers on two levels. The main and lower levels will accommodate around 45 vendors.
We are expecting to have a waiting list of vendors this year, as we have seen in years before, so it is very important that you submit your application (via the Google form) and make full payment (via etransfer to mwuc3@telus.net or cheque payable to Mill Woods United Church) as soon as possible. Deadline to submit your application and payment will be August 1, 2023.
As with years before, your application will be reviewed by the Craft Market Committee and final decision for admittance and booth placement will be confirmed before or on August 8, 2023. Instructions and details for the Christmas Craft Market Day will be sent along with your acceptance notification.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does the Craft Market Committee limit vendor acceptance into the Market?
As the Craft Market at Mill Woods United Church has limited space, we are dedicated to bringing our customers quality products with a variety of selections which are unique and exquisite. This means that we limit the number of vendors selling similar products to ensure our markets offer exceptional shopping for our customers and promote success for our vendors. As a result, some vendors who have applied, may not be accepted into the market. Any vendor who is not selected will be issued a full refund.
How are vendors distributed between the two floors?
While the Committee would love to have all vendors on the same level, our space cannot accommodate all our vendors on the same floor. Usually, the upper level is reserved for returning handmade vendors and the lower level houses 3rd party vendors and overflow applications that come in at later dates. Although, exceptions may be given to vendors with special needs.
How did the Christmas Market do last year?
Last year, we welcomed 50 vendors and between 450 and 500 customers. Not only was our market advertised and featured on Facebook, we were also seen by the Global 1 helicopter! 2022 was a HUGE success and we are expecting similar or better attendance this year.
Why be a vendor at the MWUC Craft Market?
Our Craft Markets are unique and many of our vendors say that it is their favorite market to attend. Why? Well, simply put, the turn out is great, the people are friendly, the food is delicious, and the volunteers are so helpful. Our volunteers even help you carry your items and displays into the church in the morning and out to your car in the evening! I don’t think you will get that hospitality at other markets.
How is the Market advertised?
The Craft Markets at MWUC are advertised via Facebook on our page https://www.facebook.com/craftfairMWUC, and an ad will be purchased closer to the event to drum up some new customers. We also advertise to our supportive congregation of dedicated shoppers, via internet outlets (This weekend in Edmonton), through street signs and, of course, word of mouth. We also ask all vendors to advertise their participation in the market via social media, word of mouth and postcards which will be provided to share with friends and family or to leave around the city on your ventures.
In addition to Facebook marketing, each vendor will be featured in a Vendor Spotlight on the Facebook event before the Craft Market to highlight their products and webpage/social media page
If you have further questions about the market, please email us at craftfairmwuc@gmail.com.
We are looking forward to seeing you soon!
